The North-South Runway PetroMat renovation is finished.  The flying field is open and both runways are available for use

Status of the FAA Rule for the

Operation and Certification of

Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS)

RIN 2120-AJ60

 

This rulemaking would enable small unmanned aircraft to safely operate in limited portions of the national airspace system (NAS). This action is necessary because it addresses the novel legal or policy issues about the minimum safety parameters for operating recreational remote control model aircraft in the NAS. The intended effect of this action is to develop requirements and standards to ensure that risks are adequately mitigated, such that safety is maintained for the entire aviation community.

Status: NPRM (Notice of Proposed Rule Making)

Publication Date:  July 23, 2012

End of Comment Period:  October 23, 2012

Effective Date:  2015

The access road to the flying field may be closed if Beaver Creek is above the 10' flood stage.

Stage Area Affected
18' Water is on to the runway at the flying field.
14' The entire town is flooded except for some northern and the near western sections.
13' At this stage, flooding is occurring over half of the town.
12' Flooding occurs in most areas east of Broadway street. Far eastern and far western portions of town are affected.
11' In SE part of town is flooded. There is extensive agricultural flooding south of town including the access road to the Club Flying Field.

The purpose of the Club is to promote building and flying of all types of radio controlled model aircraft, and to support the program of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) for the advancement of all phases of model aviation.

 

All activities of the Black Hawk Radio Control Pilots conform with the Rules of the Academy of Model Aeronautics including Regulations governing model aircraft contests.
